I’ll never turn down a second hand shopping day! I recently went to Houston for a fantastic girls day and night. I made a plan to pop in a few resale shops while I was there. After a little research and some great insight from a new friend, Jennifer, I was set up for success.
Now something you don’t know about my past is I was notorious for impulse purchases. Thankfully the majority of this would happen with sale items from high-end stores. Over the past two years I had a serious come to Jesus meeting with myself on this impulsivity. I vowed to only purchase something that I needed, wanted, and loved. I told myself to take a step back and think on something if I was still deciding to pull the trigger, especially if I couldn’t immediately answer yes to all three questions. Did I want it? Did I need it? Did I love it? This sometimes causes me to have what I have termed “non-buyer’s remorse”, but it helps keep me in line.
I want to give you my top recommendations on Houston resale shops and I’ll update this list if I find some more!
My Top Recommendations

- Blue Bird Circle Shop
- Hours: T-W-TH 10am-3pm and Saturday 10am-2pm
- Highly recommend getting there before opening if Saturday shopping-parking lot gets full quickly.
- Address: 615 W. Alabama Street Houston, Texas 77006
- The Guild Shop
- Hours: M-F and Saturday 9:30am-3:30pm
- Large parking lot
- Address: 2009 Dunlavy St Houston, TX 77006
Both of these stores are less than 4 minutes apart so you could definitely do both in the same day.
Shopping at the Blue Bird Circle Shop and The Guild Shop you’ll find:
- Clean and Organized spaces
- wide range of furniture in all price ranges
- antiques-more at BBC
- home decor items: lamps, art, rugs, figurines, etc.
- china, silverware, pewter, stemware
- clothes, shoes, and accessories too
- Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6pm
- Address: 1625 Blalock Rd, Houston, TX 77080
- I didn’t find as many items at this shop, but the ones I did were really good! For example, I found a chippendale style armed chair for $85! I would definitely stop by here again!
