“Toot, toot.” Yep. I just tooted my own horn. I wrapped up my box molding during Week 6 and I couldn’t be more proud of the finished look. We received an email from the ORC hosts and it reminded us that this challenge is about progress, even if you don’t completely finish the project. I am not sure all my items will be delivered in time for the reveal. Hopefully I can get it all together!
I’m currently installing the wallpaper so everything is pushed the center of the room. I haven’t yet been able to look at the room and evaluate what I still need. I told myself during the last ORC to give myself grace, so I am doing that now. The room will be different than before, but sometimes it takes a little extra time to make it just right!

Box Molding, Baseboards, and Front Door

I finished installing all the box molding around the room. The next step was adding wood filler to any gaps and nail holes. This took some time but I had some help from my good friend Kim. We had a great workday together! After all the wood filler dried, I sanded it down with 220 grit sandpaper. After that, I caulked all the edges. This felt like an eternity, but I got it done. Finally, it was time to prime and paint the box molding. I got a custom color match with Sherwin Williams to match my existing trim and shelf color. I simultaneously primed and painted the baseboards in both rooms and the front door. Kim was a champ and knocked out all the sanding of the front door. Thomas stepped in on Mother’s Day and painted the door for me. I am so grateful for all the extra hands!

I can’t wait to see the wallpaper above the box molding. I am super happy with how it turned out!
Wallpaper
I got my wallpaper primer tinted to a light blue to match the edges of the wallpaper. I applied primer in the living room first and wanted to give the dining room a little extra dry time. I started installing wallpaper and have plenty of work left to do. Keats is officially out of school so it looks like some late night wallpaper installation is in my future for the next week!

Week 7 Goals
My goals are to finish EVERYTHING I can and get the room decorated with the items that are delivered in time! But most importantly, have FUN!
Reveal week is scheduled for Wednesday March 24th-Saturday March 28th. I don’t have my date picked out yet but I will keep you updated when I have a better idea.

I’m curious how you will address the opening in the front door with the little grate in it? I have a similar one and have never found a satisfactory way to deal with it that looks good decor wise…
I’m keeping it the same. Just added a fresh coat of paint to it. I personally like the charm and wanted to keep the original front door to the house.
