Week 3 Spring 2023 ORC

I’ve officially wrapped up my last client project and its time to focus on our home. The navy grasscloth and hydrangea wallpaper were delivered at the end of week 2. My walls have some texture on them so skim coating will definitely be happening in week 3. I ordered a new tool to help with the sanding and dust collection. I’ll be prepared this ORC! During the Fall 2022 ORC, I installed wallpaper for my first time. I also had to skim coat all my walls. I set off the fire alarm that go round, so I’m hoping this goes a little smoother.

I’ve been stalking Facebook Marketplace and did a quick trip to some local resale shops to look for chairs. I’m having a hard time finding chairs online that are in stock and will make it here before the ORC wraps. I’d rather have something we absolutely love in the long run so if time isn’t on our side, we will have to just make it work without them for the big reveal. The hunt continues! I love a more tailored swivel box pleat chair, a classic wingback, and club chair with a rolled arm.

I have quite a few patterns going on in the room, so I’d like to keep the chairs a solid color. Here is what I have so far:

My friend Hannah started making pillows and quilts. She is super talented and I knew I needed her help when I decided to tackle the living room. She made me two Lee Jofa Althea citron pillows and two Schumacher velvet sky pillows. I’m still in awe at these gorgeous pillows! Hannah’s instagram is @hanmadetale! Goals for Week 3:

• Create a mockup box moulding on one area in the dining room
• Skim coat the living room and dining room walls
• Continue looking for furniture for the living room
• Neutral rug needs to be picked for the living room and a slight play on color and pattern for the dining room rug
• Continue looking for light fixtures for the dining room
• Start installing the hydrangea drape wallpaper in the living room
