Week 6 Spring 24′ ORC

The wallpaper job is done! Now, I just need to cover the switch plates and outlet covers with wallpaper.

Wallpaper

Here are some quick glimpses of the wallpaper. I love how the trim color looks with it, and I’m happy I chose a color other than white. The trim color is Sherwin Williams Green Onyx.

Vision Board

I made a new mood/vision board after finishing the wallpaper. I divided a special quilt into two pieces. This quilt was made by their great-grandmother and is loved by the boys. By splitting it, each boy can have a piece to sleep with. I plan to use fusion tape for this task.

All in the details

I’ve ordered several types of white bedding and am waiting for a quilt to arrive this week. The duvet I wanted is delayed. If necessary, I can look for another option. I also plan to make personalized pillows for the boys in time for the reveal. I’m still deciding how to arrange the pillows on the twin beds. For the floor, I chose a neutral rug and have a second one in case I need it. Additionally, I have two blue and white poufs and two neutral ones that I can switch out. I have plenty of backup options because I like to have choices.

I ordered some brass knobs for the faux bamboo dresser. I need to rub n buff the hanging rod still too. I need to get some baskets for the top shelves for organizing.

Beds

At one point, I decided to make these headboards by myself. Instead, I went with a partly homemade method. I bought the headboards from Amazon and a platform bed with slats for the base. The bed base doesn’t directly connect to a headboard, but I plan to drill some holes and attach it myself. I should have gotten the fabric earlier, but I managed to find some discounted navy blue fabric from Kravet. I’m hoping it gets here soon so I can cover the beds. I’ll go over those steps when I get to that part. Mattresses were ordered from Nectar.

Window Treatments

I want to try putting curtains inside the framed shutters, but if it doesn’t work out, I have shades as a backup plan. I like to live on the edge during the One Room Challenge. Stay tuned to see if I can pull this off.

WOW! Did that list just stress me out a tiny bit…… why yes it did. In the end, it always comes together. Spring ORC is always tricky with the school year coming to an end. Let’s hope I can get it all together in time for reveal week! Be sure to see all the participants in the One Room Challenge.
